Experience the spirit of Texas – so I don’t suck.
Ya know that guy who constantly drones on about how cool something is, when he knows you can’t experience it yourself? Yah, that guy sucks.
We’ve talked about Texas whiskey more times than I can remember. And last summer I realized that we’re dangerously close to becoming that sucky guy – rambling about Texas whiskey while you just sit there and shrug.
I could blame corporate interests and dusty restrictions for keeping most of it off of your shelf – but you can’t put an excuse in your glass.
So here’s what we did.
– Contact 12 whiskey makers in Texas. DONE.
– Convince them to send us a single barrel that they’re proud of. DONE.
– Bottle 50ml samples of each single barrel. DONE.
– Put all 12 samples in a one JANKY box in time for the holidays. DONE.
This is your chance to experience a snapshot of the Texas whiskey scene in your glass, MB. The supply is limited for obvious reasons, so grab yours quickly.
Worst-case scenario? You get a deeper understanding of what Texas whiskey makers are doing across a dozen unique samples, and move on.
Best case? You discover a new favorite whiskey and rage at how hard it is to find again
… or is that another worst-case?
